SONY A7R II (ILCE-7RM2), the best mirrorless camera
This camera is a 42MP full frame mirrorless one with 5-axis image stabilization (If you are using Sony lenses), featuring the world's first 35mm BSI (BackSide Illumination) CMOS sensor, and including a hybrid autofocus system and 4K video capabilities.
So far I have only used Canon lenses on it using Sigma MC-11 adapter. It worked with most lenses I threw at it. I am waiting for a Original Sony lens (28-70mm OSS) and then I will know the effects of 5 axis stabilization too.
I also added some apps, Digital filter which eliminates the need of ND filters (I have not tested this completely yet) Smart remote, Multiple exposure and Motion shot. (You can find more apps and info at playmemoriescameraapps com . 42 MP and wide dynamic range makes this a Landscape photographers dream and movie makers who need 4K.Read full review...

GREAT image quality and low light performance, but complicated and not intuitive
It is a great camera, (coming off of the Canon 6d). The image quality is absolutely stunning. The only problem is that the menus are difficult to make sense out of, there's no meaningful onboard help,, so many times you're just fiddling/guessing or looking back to the menu. It's not an intuitive process at all. I've been at it for a couple of weeks now and still thinking hard if I want to get outside of just basic shot set up. Once I fully understand how to use this camera it will be the best camera in the universe. :-) I got the Zeiss 55, 1.8 and an in dreamworld with portraits. The closest Eye focus pretty much delivers 95% "perfect" focus in shots (yes, tack sharp, perfect). Well over the 50% I got on my 6d. I love my camera, if you can afford it, you won't regret it. Get about 2 or 4 extra Wasabi batteries on amz, you'll need them.Read full review...

Great deal excellent product
Love this camera so far. Been watching tons of YouTube videos on how to get the most out of its functions. There’s a lot... and can get a little complicated but with tutorials I caught on quickly. Coming from Canon I wasn’t sure at first, but I am happily satisfied now. Down side: Sony lenses are pricy and to use eye-autofocus, which is a great feature, you cannon use a converter. But that being said all other functions with my canon lenses and the sigma m11 converter I bought work great., including normal autofocus.Read full review...

Fantastic Camera, I love mirror less camera's.
This camera has a lot more functions then I will ever use. It is loaded. I will never outgrow this camera. It is very compact and works perfectly with my Canon L series Lens, with the Metabones adapter. Great stabilization with the canon glass. So far I have found nothing negative about this camera except the battery which I new would be an issue before I purchased the camera. Easy fix, just purchased more batteries and a charger that will charge a couple of batteries at a time. I am 72 years old and love the light weight of this camera. Beats lugging my Canon 5D mark III around and has a bigger full frame sensor with better exposure latitude. I love this camera.Read full review...

I love this camera SO MUCH!
I'm going to take it out and take some more/different lighting shots, but this thing has been AMAZING in it's image quality! The only down side I've seen so far is that the file size on a 42MP photo is pretty large, so sending it can be a little tedious. But I'm learning all the wonderful new features of this camera and I'm enjoying it a great deal thus far!Read full review...

Great for projects where a silent camera is required or portability is important
Can't beat the sharpness of this camera. lightweight but well built. Silent shutter was a must for us. This would be a great camera for travel photographers. We use it with our Canon L series lenses and a metabones adapter. Works quite well with most lenses, occasionally has some focus issues but this was to be expected with a third party lens.Read full review...

Marvelous - I let my Nikons go - good by Nikon, welcome to the new king!
Camera amazing! After shooting more than 11 years with nikon's I'm finally switch to SONY and I keep all my lenses (Nikons, Zeiss, Leica, Pentax) and I got adaptors for all of them and now on this SONY all my lenses works! Video capability outstanding, low light shooting - impressing. Handhold shooting - with this camera I easily can shoot video 1/20 with 50mm lens or photos even 1/15 with 135mm lens with no movement or blur. Little monster!Read full review...

I do mainly video, I used this to replace my A7s. The video quality is spot on, with the added 42 mp. Low light is obviously not as good as the S models, but it’s still pretty great. Doesn’t handle quick movement for video as well either, but it’s a great video option for the low level professional. And a great photo option for anyone. Read full review...

Great camera. Import model is the Korean version
The Sony A7Rii is a beast of a camera. I won't go much into how it performs. This import model (at least the camera I recieved) was a Korean version. When I turned it on, I set the camera to English and movie mode to NTSC. I always have a battery in mine in case I need to shoot something quickly, but the settings have not reset themselves. Not sure what would happen if it I left the battery out for an extended period of time. Most of the cables are the Korean style plug, but it did come with a US style plug for the AC charger which is nice. This does not come with a warranty so I purchased the $200 warranty with accident coverage. It has no deductible and of they can't repair it, they will replace it. I have not had to file a claim, but the 3rd party warranty company has a 91% positive rating which gives me an ease of mind. With the significant price savings and the fact I now have accident coverage, I highly recommend this product over the standard MSRP of $3,200 US version.Read full review...

a beautiful, complicated little beast
as a Leica m user I shoot stills hand held, mainly in Manual or A modes - generally in the context of street scenes and music performance. the A7Rii camera yields staggering clarity of detail, it is very responsive in low light, and the Zeiss glass (35mm and 85mm) renders beautifully crisp photographs. with lenses mounted the camera weight feels good in my hands: not too light, and not SLR heavy. looking forward to adding more lenses to expand my horizons, and making photographs with this camera. it's early days, but so far a great tool.
the camera is easy to use on automated everything, but two things modify the meaning of 'easy to use' for those who want a bit more organic control: first, as indicated by others, understanding the menu and button combinations is a steep curve - there is A LOT to memorize, perhaps too much, and especially noticeable when trying to respond to quickly in fast changing low light situations. second, also menu related - perhaps I have not found the correct menu/button combos yet, but I wish I could easily turn off the rear screen - it is distracting and unnecessary when shooting in dark environments. I'm a photographer, not a video gamer who wants all the bells and whistles blasting all the time.Read full review...
