For years I have been saying that the F3 was undervalued. It really is a great camera. Recently the market has caught on and prices are soaring.

This is the original non-HP prism, which has a larger view and is better if you do not wear glasses ("HP" makes a smaller image that can be viewed from a greater distance so it is good if you cannot get your eye right up to the finder.

That makes a camera like this a find. A looker? No, but it does work well and the price is right.

It has a couple of issues. It is missing the exposure lock button, which most people never use, and there is a subtle engraving on the base (fifth photo, top left of the bottom).

Otherwise it is in good condition and works perfectly.

.Very reliable camera with nice features

Excellent camera, built very strong and reliable. Worthwhile buy. Although the maximum speed is not high, it is normally sufficient for most real purposes (1/2000s). The weird thing is the flash whose attachment is not very commercial nowadays but it works very well using the correct adapter.
Very nice feeling when taking pictures, old school, most control.

Great camera for the money. Considered to be one of the best from NIkon.

Thanks to the digital takeover, you buy a great camera like the Nikon F3 HP for a song. Take advantage of the features and rugged build quality and get the fun back into photography.
On a new set of silver oxide batteries you can take up to 5000 photos. If you do have a bad battery, you can still use this camera as a manual at 1/60th of a second shutter speed.
Takes all AL Nikon lenses so you can use all of your old lens which is a great feature.

F3, a benchmark for camera quality

You can trust an F3 to keep on chugging, even after years of being left unused and unloved; put a new roll of film through it and it happily shoots away.
The facture quality throughout the range of accessories underscores Nikon's attempts to reach the top of the professional equipment market; a few AA batteries and everything operates like it was made yesterday.
The photo quality, the build quality, the longevity of parts, the accessory range, all are excellent. Most pros who've been servicing SLRs would have worked on at least one F3 before, and since they were made for years, there's still plenty of spare parts.
A great camera.

One of the smartest choices in 35mm cameras. A+

The Nikon F3 is the last of the manual focus Nikon cameras (after F and F2), and it is wonderful. This electronic shutter camera was produced by Nikon for about 20 years. There is no shortage of excellent examples available for purchase on ebay. The camera handles well, the image is bright and easy to focus, many different finders and screens are available, and it takes all Nikkor AI and AIS lenses. The MD-4 motor can be found quite inexpensively. The motor is light and fast and it can also power the camera. This is an important point. Even if your camera battery fails, or if you simply do not have a battery for the camera, the AA batteries in the MD-4 motor will power both the motor and the camera body. My first love in Nikon was the F/F2. Once I started using the F3, I still had the manual feel, but many wonderful and easy-to-use features that the F3 offers, but the F and F2 do not. In my view, this camera receives an A+.Read full review...

My new favorite camera

I'm finally getting around to write a review after going through a couple of rolls. First off, I really want to thank you for the handwritten note and also printouts for the Nikon F3, it was a very kind and personal touch. The camera was exactly as mentioned in the listing and came with a lot of additional items which I really appreciated. I've had a lot of fun shooting with my new F3 and I really can't say anything bad about it.Read full review...

Excellent condition! Nice deal!

The camera, both lens, the flash light, and the tripod are all in excellent condition with almost no signs of wear! Everything was wrapped very well with a lot of protection. The shipping is very fast. I already used up a roll of film, and the photos turned to be good. No signs of light leak. I am still learning, and hopefully this camera can last for a long time. I really love it! Thanks for the nice deal!Read full review...

If you're into shooting 35mm film, this is a wonderful classic camera available at excellent value from an Roberts an excellent, reliable dealer that provides consistent excellent service and photographic expertise.

As a photojournalist who shoots and teaches only film, I urge you digital photographers to get one of these and treasure the photographic lessons you can only learn with film not pixels and not computerization of images. Nikon F-3HPs are the real deal. Built solid, minimal power usage and non-power back-up system. They're easy to use, comfortable to handle. They have fast single or continuous frame motor drives with the MD-4. The F3 accepts all Nikkor mount lenses with a reputation for sharpness and speed with interchangable focus screens viewfinders. And if you really yearn for one, you can even buy an AF version of the F-3. It offers flexibility as well in either manual or auto-exposure.

I trust Roberts to sell me clean, used AND reliable equipment. Even so, their used gear comes with a 6 month warranty. Nice touch from an outfit that will honor it. You gotta like that. Any questions? Feel free to write.

Now go visit Roberts and revisit the joys of shooting film with a classic work horse, one that delivers the images you create in the viewfinder not on the monitor. Load up a roll of Kodak Tri-X or Ilford Pan F, set the ISO and savor the experience and the memories this camera will give you.
Take it light ; ) but enjoy an F3. Very affordable and a fantastic camera.
