Nikon’s Full-frame sensor raises the bar on image quality
Stunning detail and NIKKOR lenses
Passionate photographers who seek uncompromised full-frame, high-resolution performance rely on Nikon FX-format HD-SLRs. With a level of performance only bested by Nikon’s own D800 series D-SLRs, D610’s 24.3 megapixel FX-format CMOS sensor, wide dynamic range and high S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio captures every detail with lifelike sharpness and low noise throughout its wide ISO range. Low-light performance is synonymous with Nikon—shoot crystal clear images from ISO 100 to 6400, expandable down to 50 and up to 25,600 for extreme situations. EXPEED 3 processing system manages all that data with remarkable speed and accuracy, enabling up to 6 fps continuous shooting at full resolution in both FX and DX formats. Whether shooting people, landscapes or close-ups—you’ll marvel at D610’s faithful color reproduction. Add Nikon’s newest selection of affordable fast f/1.8 primes, compact wide ratio zooms with VR image stabilization or tele- and supertelephoto lenses and you’ll see the full potential that the D610 offers.
Remarkable AF performance with compatibility up to f/8
f/8 sensitivity benefits action and wildlife photography
One of the keys to capturing razor-sharp images is a fast, precise autofocus system, and the D610 has one of the best. 39 tightly packed focus points with wide-area AF coverage offer endless compositional possibilities. Nine cross-type sensors in the center offer superior accuracy even when light and contrast are scarce. Seven center focus points work all the way down to f/8 for extended AF functionality with teleconverters and long-reach lenses. Switch between 9, 21 or 39 point AF, allowing for compositional freedom. D610’s Scene Recognition System’s subject identification and tracking information means enhanced performance by 3D Tracking and Auto Area AF. When shooting photos or HD video in Live View, Nikon’s responsive contrast-detect AF activates for accurate fulltime autofocusing.
Exceptional performance and quality
Flawless metering and onboard intelligence
The D610 delivers consistently beautiful images, thanks to Nikon’s intelligent Scene Recognition System with 3D Color Matrix Metering II. Its 2,016 pixel RGB sensor evaluates every scene, taking into account brightness, contrast, subject distance and the scene colors, all within the time it takes to press the shutter release button. That data is then referenced against an onboard image database for consistently accurate exposures, auto white balance, i-TTL flash and subject-tracking autofocus performance.
Broadcast-quality Full HD video at your fingertips
Two video formats in one camera
Nikon is committed to developing HD-SLRs that empower and inspire filmmakers and video enthusiasts, and the D610 is proof of that. Shoot 1080p HD videos with selectable frame rates of 30p, 25p or 24p and MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 compression. Bend time with 720p HD at 60p, 50p or 30p for ultra-smooth video playback of fast moving subjects, or create slow-motion footage during post processing. Manually adjust ISO, shutter speed and aperture, activate Live View shooting’s fulltime AF with face-priority and subject tracking or manually focus. Experience dedicated inputs for an optional stereo mic and headphones for monitoring sound, still image exporting, uncompressed recording of video via HDMI out to an external recorder, simultaneous live view on external monitors and much more. Multi-area mode Full HD D-Movie gives you compositional freedom using FX or DX movie formats. Enhance your video with the dramatic perspectives and depth-of-field control of Nikon’s full line of NIKKOR interchangeable lenses, and you’ll dazzle with every video project.
Wi-Fi camera control and mobile sharing
Optional WU-1b wireless mobile adapter
With Wi-Fi compatibility, sharing photos is easier than ever. Connect the optional WU-1b Wireless Mobile Adapter and wirelessly transfer photos to your smartphone, tablet or any compatible Wi-Fi enabled device. Use your smartphone to instantly upload your shots to the web or email them to a friend. Install Nikon’s free Wireless Mobile Adapter Utility and remotely control the D610—and shoot from your smartphone or tablet!
Lighting studio optional
The D610’s built-in pop-up flash offers up new shooting possibilities that other cameras simply can’t match—and not just in low-light situations. Even well lit subjects can benefit from a balanced fill flash for extra depth and dimension. And since the D610’s flash integrates with Nikon’s i-TTL system, it can act as a Commander and communicate crucial exposure information to two groups of remote flashes across three channels for accurate lighting and exceptional results. When you need the extra power, add an optional accessory Nikon Speedlight for more lighting possibilities.

Nikon isn't cheap, but it is good! The D610 has almost all the pro features at a low cost and light weight.
I am upgrading from an Nikon DX to FX so I know Nikon to be a manufacturer of excellent products. I like to capability to use a wide range of lenses from wide to normal to telephoto. The hard part is deciding what of the nearly infinite combination of settings is right for use. I mostly use aperture priority, auto focus, auto-iso. Great camera.Read full review...

GOOD VALUE FOR FULL FRAME CAMERA
The D610 is a nice full frame camera. It has pretty much what you will need than all the bells and whistles. It has some nice features that you will need. A good way to start full frame and grow. The price is worth buying. I don’t think you can go wrong. Unless your a pro you might want or need something a little different. Just get out there and shoot and enjoy the camera. So if you have a chance buy one and shoot your heart out.Read full review...

D610 is excellent
I had two D750 since 2014 and I always found their picture more towards the softer side and color rendition not that good ....I thought I was doing something wrong (not taking the pictures correctly) untiI decided to try the D610.....i was really surprised....D610 pics were sharper and the color rendition was more accurate (more colors).....With D750 I had to play a lot with the camera settings to try to get somehow good pictures.
The only bad thing about D610 it was the low light shooting .....anything above 3200 ISO would make the picture quality somehow bad especially if the picture was taken without a flash ....while the D750 had an amazing low light picture even while shooting at 12,000 ISO.
If what you need is a camera which is amazing in low light , then grab the D750 ....if you need sharp pics, Beautiful color renditions , without any photography experience especially in normal lighting conditions , grab the D610 ....Read full review...

I was a little nervous taking this step... this is the grown up level. Of course I took it out of the box, charged the battery and just started using it, it is not my first nikon. It is pretty self explanatory, there were a couple of things I had to read about. The auto setting are different than my D40x, the lock on the settings knob being the first difference. This bundle is awesome, although I haven't used the large lens yet. The flash that comes in this kit doesn't have instructions and I am having a little trouble getting it to time correctly. At this point with the little bit that I have used the camera I feel like it is a good quality purchase.Read full review...

Great full frame DSLR
Not considered a pro level body but I’d hardly call it a beginners camera. Everyone just starting out in photography should look into this model and not waste your time on cheap crop sensor bodies. Very affordable and build quality is excellent. Easy to use also.Read full review...

Nice Full Frame DSLR Kit
Comes with everything you need for your DSLR kit except the lens which is better in my opinion because you don't by a professional grade DSLR without knowing which lens/lenses you want to buy for it. Image quality is what I'm paying for not features and the image quality is fantastic, better value than the Canon Mark IV if you're looking for a camera that will give you great image quality and not so much about features to cover up lack of skill/creativity or make your photography 'easier'. However if you're shooting high action events like sports I would say that it is much easier on the Canon's Mark series cameras because their autofocus system is better but it's not impossible or extremely hard on the D610 but Canon is easier and will give you immediate results without much practice. Great camera, best value for money, you won't see an image quality difference between this and the D750, it's just the D750 has a better autofocus system and features. I love my D610, her name is Raven.Read full review...

The best camera Nikon ever made.
After 1400 pictures the camera started producing oil spots, at 1600 the Oil spots exceeded 50 spots highly visible and extremely difficult to remove.
Nikon Support Center coudnt remove the oil spots they took the camera 3 times and kept it each time 24 hours and still the camera has same oil spots.
Nikon Support center informed me that Censor need replacement now.
Do not buy grey market products! Do not buy from BigvalueInc on ebay as they require 10+ weeks to repair your camera.
I will start my review from the end by saying that this is the best and most practical full frame camera available.
I was afraid to buy the D610 because all the negative reviews on the D600, however I never took them seriously as they were so emotional and decided to buy this camera.
gosh what an amazing quality, I own Canon 5D Mark iii, and to be honest the quality of the Nikon D610 is at least 20% better than the Canon at exact condition.
I have taken over 6000 shots in less than 2 months and didn't see any problem what so ever.
the Nikon D610 is so easy to use, very practical, light weight, and heavy duty at the same time, the battery live for very long time even when using flash.
The Nikon D610 also out-beated the Canon 5D mark 3 in the low noise at high ISO, I have taken shots with over 6000 iso and im really impressed with the low noise.
I like the AF of the Nikon D610 even in dark areas I can focus easily at short distances because of the focus light, in 5D Mark 3 I rely on 3rd party equipment to focus in dark areas.
If you want to buy this camera just take it blindly, and if you want to compare it, go with the 5D mark3, the only thing I like about the 5d mark 3 is the body.
a great feature also available in the Nikon D610 is the U1 and U2 and ability to save your configurations, this is really useful especially that I take many sports shots and low light condition photos and I don't really have to spend minutes reconfiguring anymore, I can easily jump between my settings.
the speed of the camera is 6 frames per second and the buffer doesn't slow down like the Nikon D800, even when shooting RAW, except after 10 shots which is much more than you need.
Even the built in flash is quite impressive, fast, powerful and perform really well.
I am so satisfied with this Camera and I highly recommend it for both business and personal use.Read full review...

The Nikon D610 - Quality and Features you will not believe !
I have been working with the Nikon D610 since 2014. I had wanted a Full Frame Camera (Nikon FX Sensor) with the following features: dual SD Slots, light weight, under $2000, and over 20mp.
Other features that I really love about the Nikon D610 is the Creative Lighting System and the Mirror Up Feature.
The Camera Controls are very easy to change: Separate Dials for Aperture and Shutter, Shutter Mode Dial: Buttons for the - Exposure Compensation Button, Menu, White Balance, Photo Quality, and the ISO Film Speed.
I choose the Nikon D610 because, it produces the best quality I have seen. The speed, sharpness, and color are far superior to any other camera!
