Great Camera

TI've had this camera now for a little over two months and it has exceeded my expectations. Compared to using a cell phone or an inexpensive digital camera this DSLR blows the image quality of the others out of the water. Not only does it create great images and videos but it's fairly easy to use, a quick learning curve. It definitely has it's quirks but nothing that gets in the way of using it. the battery life could be better and some of the menu screens are kind of bulky but this is all overshadowed by the great features this camera offers. Love the audio mic input, flip screen, autofocus, and easy controls. I highly recommend this camera especially as an introduction into the DSLR world.Read full review...

Excellent size and performance for the price

I used to have a Canon 60D and a SL1 as backup. As I have back issues I couldn't carry the 60D on long trips, so I took the SL1. However, I did fell the leap between the two of them, causing me to begin the search for a new one that could fit in the gap. I've had the T6i for a few weeks now and I think I really made a great choice. Don't get me wrong, the 60D for me still is a better camera for professional heavy duty work, but the T6i is fabulous for long trips and pleasure photography. If you can only have one, the T6i won't dissapoint you either. Compared to the SL1 I'll have to say it is indeed a bit bigger but that's actually a good thing, because the grip is far better on the T6i and all the additional features are a big plus. Some of the most noticeable features are the Wifi capability, the autofocus points, the ISO dedicated button and the quality of the images and video.
Sure it is all plastic and won't take a good drop as a magnesium body would or withstand the rain, but for the price tag I think it is understandable.
I have been using it on a bunch of different scenarios, such as outdoors, indoor portrait, studio, social events and it has not let me down yet. If you are a beginner you will find it very easy to use and understand, and if you are pro you will find it really useful as a second body or as non work travel or pleasure option just as I did.

great for serious photography

Very nice camera with lots of features. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it really is too complex for most users. I learned photography back in the 1960s with B&W film and having to manually setting everything . Over the years I updated cameras for film, even bought a Canon EOS 650 (a fantastic film camera). I'm having to learn how to really "use" this T6i which is no easy task even knowing what the settings/features do. If you are at least semi serious about really learning more than point and shoot, this camera will get you there. And if all you want are good snapshots, then set it to Auto or Program and get some very good snapsots, but it is overkill for snapshots.Read full review...

I got this camera so I can be part of a friend's local business called Moment Portraits and it's even better than the cameras I use to work with at the photo studio in Valley Plaza mall. I'm so excited to start shooting!! The price was amazing too! My main concern was that it would be too heavy on the wrist. Again I've had problems with the cameras at work before. I was always taking pain killers and wearing a brace doing everything I could to help with the aches and ugly tingling. This is so light and I can get an easy grip on it. Really worth every penny saved!Read full review...

Awesome Canon DSLR Rebel!

I just purchased this T6i to upgrade from my Rebel XT which I've had for about 15 years or so. My Rebel XT was a great started camera, but this T6i is an incredible upgrade. It's very user friendly with explanations for what each setting is for. To get the most out of this camera you will still need some understanding of Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO. I have watched several "how to" videos on youtube to learn more about these settings and when and where to use them. The main thing I like to use my camera for is sports (mainly baseball) so I love that the fps (frames per second) on the T6i is almost double (5 fps) that of the XT (2.8 fps). I haven't been able to use the T6i at a baseball game yet, but can't wait to do so next month. The pictures I've taken so far to get accustomed to the camera have been high quality--both indoors and outdoors.
I also love the flip screen which is handy for recording video as well as taking a selfie. Plus, it's a great size to review my pictures. That was the only thing I didn't like on the XT, the view screen was very small. It was hard to tell for sure if the pictures was crisp and clear. Not an issue with the T6i. Would highly recommend, even for an ameteur--which I still consider myself to be.

Awesome DSLR camera!

You can find another similar body on Amazon for a few bucks cheaper, but I don't regret buying this. It's a great camera and easy to use. I'm familiar with DSLR cameras so this was a great upgrade from my older one. I personally think the software is easier to use in comparison to Nikon, but the image quality isn't as good. This is neither a good nor a bad thing, just personal preference. The touch screen really makes it easy to use and navigate all the different settings. I would definitely recommend the camera though, I have NO complaints! :DRead full review...

Excellent Camera, Highly Recommend

I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the camera arrived in the mail. It's an excellent camera for those who want superb image quality without completely breaking the bank. I've been using the body with a Tamron lens I bought a few years ago, and the results have been wonderful. Great camera!Read full review...
