Comprising a versatile set of imaging capabilities along with support for a connected workflow, the EOS Rebel T6 from Canon is a compact, sleek DSLR featuring an 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor and a DIGIC 4+ image processor. Combined, these two technologies avail rich image quality with reduced noise, along with a native sensitivity range of ISO 100-6400 that can be further expanded to ISO 12800 to suit working in low and difficult lighting conditions. The sensor and processor also enable the ability to shoot continuously at 3 fps for photographing moving subjects, as well as recording Full HD 1080p/30 video. Benefitting shooting with the optical viewfinder, a 9-point AF system incorporates a single center cross-type AF point for increased accuracy and focusing speed, and a contrast-detection focusing system offers refined autofocus precision for shooting movies or working in live view. The rear 3.0" 920k-dot LCD offers a bright, clear image for playback and review, and built-in Wi-Fi with NFC also offers the ability to wirelessly share imagery from your camera to a linked mobile device for instant online sharing.

Included with the camera body is the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens, which provides a 28.8-88mm equivalent focal length range that covers wide-angle to short telephoto perspectives. One aspherical element is featured in the optical design, to control spherical aberrations and contribute to higher clarity, and an Optical Image Stabilizer minimizes the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. Extending the combined zoom range even further, the EF 75-300 f/4-5.6 III lens is also included, which offers an equivalent focal length range of 120-480mm. Well-suited to use with distant subjects, this lens utilizes a DC autofocus motor to acquire precise focus while the telephoto perspective is especially useful for visually compressing the space between subjects and producing a shallow depth of field. Additionally, an EOS Shoulder Bag 100ES is also featured in this kit, and serves as a convenient means to protect and carry the entire DSLR and two lens kit.

18MP APS-C CMOS Sensor and DIGIC 4+ Image Processor

At the heart of the Rebel T6 is an apt 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4+ image processor, which combine to provide both speed throughout the camera system as well as notable image quality. Up to 3 fps shooting is possible to suit photographing moving subjects, for unlimited JPEGs in a burst or up to 6 consecutive raw frames, and Full HD 1080p video at 30 fps can also be recorded. For working in a variety of lighting conditions, the sensitivity range of ISO 100-6400 can be further expanded to ISO 12800 to benefit photographing in low-light situations.

9-Point AF System

A 9-point phase-detection autofocus system incorporates a single cross-type point to lend a high degree of focusing accuracy in mixed and low-contrast lighting conditions. This focusing system also utilizes an AI Servo AF mechanism for faster tracking and more accurate results.

Body Design and Built-In Wi-Fi

  • A large 3.0" 920k-dot LCD monitor serves as a bright means for live view shooting and image playback.
  • An optical pentamirror viewfinder presents a bright, clear view of the scene when shooting stills and is ideal for quick-paced subject tracking and working in bright conditions.
  • Built-in Wi-Fi with NFC permits pairing the DSLR with a smartphone or tablet for wirelessly sharing photos and movies for instant online posting. This connectivity is also compatible with the optional Canon Connect Station CS100 storage device.
  • Wi-Fi connectivity also enables wireless remote control over the camera from linked mobile devices using the Camera Connect app.
  • Compatible with the full lineup of Canon EF and EF-S-mount lenses.

    Other Camera Features

  • Scene Intelligent Auto mode intelligently selects the appropriate camera settings based on recognized scene types for accurate exposures.
  • A Feature Guide helps to familiarize one with the various camera features and displays short descriptions of shooting modes, settings, and effects for easy operation.
  • Basic+ and Creative Auto modes simplify the process of achieving certain creative looks.
  • Creative Filters allow you to refine the look of imagery in-camera, and include Toy Camera, Fisheye, and Miniature Effect, among others.

Great intermediate camera for learning to unleash your inner photographer.

This is a great intermediate camera for learning to unleash your inner photographer. There are many accessories and additional lenses that can be purchased to suit your needs. It does require a SD card to be installed before you can use it. Purchase a good one geared toward photography, you won't regret spending the couple of extra dollars in exchange for the benefits. Battery pack has long life before requiring charging. The camera has great image quality and was fairly easy to learn to use. Indoor, outdoor, all different lighting and weather conditions, I get great photos. After owning compact cameras for years, I am glad that I made the leap. Well worth the price in my opinion. Download the PDF owners manual for quick, easy referencing of features and settings.Read full review...

Great camera for the money!

It is a great introductory camera for someone just getting into photography. It has most of the bells and whistles that more expensive cameras have. It is Wi-Fi ready and you can link to most cell phones. I just kept watching auctions on eBay for one and I was able to purchase one from an auction. I am still learning about it yet myself, but so far I am very pleased with it. I would recommend getting a book or watch some videos on YouTube about it. If you want to spend a little more and get the T6i model which has the LCD screen that you can move it around, making it easier to take pictures in certain conditions. In hind sight that is what I which I had done. Its still a great camera for the money.Read full review...

I have used a Minolta SLR camera for many years and when digital took over I bought a Canon Power Shot and it did well taking family pictures but I wanted a digital autofocus camera to use to take some wildlife and bird pictures but thought they were just not in my budget until I saw a used Canon Rebel EOS T6 here on eBay for a great price, a lot better than Amazon's price and it came with two lenses, new camera bag, cleaning tool a remote to take pictures up to 16 feet away, bag for lens and lens covers, battery charger and a CD that tells more than I will ever learn about the camera. The camera can be left on automatic and it will do everyting but can be used on manual. You can use the view finder or the large live view to view your scene. All the buttons and dials are marked clearly to what they are and the camera and with a .55 mm lens is really light. I'm going to use it on a tripod when the wind stops blowing and take some remote pictures of the birds I feed in my backyard. There are better cameras that run into thousands of dollars but I don't need one. I just ordered a zoom leans for it and I'm only out about $400.00.Read full review...

SD card in battery door is bad idea

Maybe this is personal preference, but I always add a battery grip to my cameras. I have owned almost every Rebel since the Xsi. This camera seemed to be good, until I mounted the grip and could not find the SD card slot. I thought I was crazy, but I took the grip off, and there it was.... In the battery compartment. This is just not good, so I did not keep this camera. So if you don't use a battery grip, Rebel Cameras are great and no doubt you will love this. But if you do use a grip, do yourself a favor and get a T5i or T6s.Read full review...

Good Starter, Intermediate or Weekend Warrior Camera

I've owed several Canon Camera's & I've tested several other Brand's.
This Camera is a Super Intermediate Camera & will do most anything
any other camera will do & this is a very good deal with this Kit.
This Kit is very Large & for most Beginner's this should be about all
you would need to get started taking photo's. It's also good for
the weekend photo taker. I tried taken wildlife photo's at 100 yard's
with the Auto Zoom & the Camera did better than a fair job. Over all
I like this Camera for my use & for most people I think you would
like it too. The Only Con's that I saw with this Camera was the
Batteries don't stay charged as long as stated, but with this Kit
you get 3 Batteries, So your Fine in that area. The Second Con is
the Camera is not as fast as stated, but it does Fine for most
Photography. I've had this Camera over a month now & I've took
over a 1,000 Photo's with it & so far it's made the test.
I might add BuyDig does a good job standing behind what they sell.

. Light and nimble

Got this camera because I had stopped shooting35mm SLR years ago and got rid of all that stuff. I was a little worried that the experience would not be as pleasent as the olld SLR. Wrong! I never considered the fact that it would not need an external motor drive for action shoots and what 35mm SLR coulddo video. It only took me a short time to get comfortable with it and the color and image are exceptional. I love not having to choose a film speed or set f-stops or worry about light meters. Should have done this years ago. For the average shooter, this is good enough.Read full review...

Better than I thought

For under $400, I thought this camera was about to be, well, not the best... man was I wrong!! The quality is amazing, even with the kit lens. I’ve never touched a camera in my life, but this is so easy to use. The WiFi (to me) is an amazing feature! I can easily send all the pictures on my camera to my iPad and do all my editing from there. If you’re looking for a great beginner camera, this is the one to get!Read full review...
